Vectortuts+ interview
Well, waddyaknow? You hang around for ages and then suddenly two come along at once. I'm talking on-line interviews, and if you really felt the last one left you wanting more then you can (apart from possibly getting out a bit more often!) click on this link to Vectortuts+ for some more ramblings by me regarding how I pitched up at the point I currently find myself.
Seriously, Vectortuts+ is a great site which like Vectelligence promotes designers and artists and gives advice and tutorials regarding vector based softwares. I'm not sure, but I'm guessing it's a state-side based site as some of my spelling has gone trans-atlantic, ha, ha! Check it out and hope you enjoy it!

James Joyce
Time has been tight here in Cook Towers with little time to spend pursuing the more enjoyable things in life; like grapplin' with the likeness of the great writer, Mr James Joyce; a free painted caricature awaits anyone who can prove they've read 'Finnegan's Wake' from begininning to end more than once!
Sorry, only jokin' with that last bit, heh, heh!. Anyway, currently working on an involved colour piece so hopefully it won't be too long before I can launch it into cyberspace.
Keep on scratchin'!

Diego Forlan
The aquiline Forlan, who with his explosive acceleration and awesome striking power, has been for me the outstanding player of the 2010 world cup.

Ledley King - scratch
A quickish scratch of the latest call up to the England squad, Tottenham's Mr Ledley King.
Come out a bit clean for a scratch... but there ya go!

Lobo, Mean Machine Angel and er... Jon Stewart?
Who'd win in a face-off between the last Czarnian and the shy and retiring one from the Angel Gang?
I'm guessing it would be a pretty close run thing but Lobo would just take the day as Mean would inevitably get his dial stuck for comic effect and go butt-frenzy, hamstringing his own efforts.
I was a big fan of 2000AD growing up (amongst other publications) and fancied re-visiting some old character fav's. So here're a couple of bad, bad boys.

Louise Bourgeois
Here's my effort to mark the passing of the French-American artist who died a couple of days ago at the grand age of 98. I only really know her by her giant spider installation that marked the opening of the (then) new Tate Modern site in London. I like her because she would say that the celebrity and the money were nothing set against the work for which she encouraged everyone to pursue relentlessly. Just as well, as she only really came under the public gaze when she made her seventies.

Emile Heskey
Poor ol' Emile; he just can't find the back of that net. Needs to get some lessons off the Japanese defence. Now that's how to score with the head!

Started off as a digi pencil sketch but after doing a satisfactory outline the cross-hatching started to seem too much. So, changed direction and painted in block colour. That's two gals in a row - c'mon!

Anita Pallenberg
It has been noted on at least one online forum that there is a noticable under-representation of the fairer sex in my uploads. This is an accurate and fair observation and there are various reasons for this. So, I intend to go someway in redressing the balance, starting with the one-time model, actress, fashion designer and favourite squeeze of the Rolling Stones, Anita Pallenberg. Gotta be easier on the eye than Monsieur Sartre - non?

More Soccer: 'Been doing a lot of colour work and most of it's being done in vector and it's taking a while, so needing a rest and wanting a quick result I thought a drawing was in order.
The result is the current soccer captain of Chelsea FC.

Sneeky Peeky
Here's a mid-stage crop of a piece that I'm working on. It's of a well known American bad-boy who's recently had his life portrayed on film - although I think it was all shot on digital. Leading man had the same initials. Ya guessed it? Gonna be shooting up a downtown near you soon...

Holiday Scribbles
Had a short break away from the studio by visiting the west country but still took a pencil and some paper with me and managed to do a few roughs. They're presented like this as they don't really stand up to close analysis, but I wanted to post something...
