Koi Tattoo design

Something a bit different - a recent commission for a full back tattoo. The client supplied the reference pic's and I had to design the layout and style.
A fun job for me and a painful one for the client!

Angelina on the tiltboard

Early stages of a new small painting of Mrs Pitt. I've realised this will be the second painting of Angelina Jolie I've put up in almost as many weeks. There really is nothing to be read into this.

Introducing the 'Tiltboard'

Here's a great bit of kit I picked up over the new year sales. It's an adjustable craft board/easel with a pretty cool ball joint giving it a wide range of positions which can be tightened very effectively with a large handle. This handle tightens the joint that the ball is 'trapped' in as seen in the second picture. Perfect for smaller canvases.

Louis

Having watched a Screenwipe where Charlie Brooker

takes X Factor to task I thought I'd give Louis

a scribble seeing as I'd already down The Cowell.

Shazza next, then...

Tom Waits

Here's one face I keep coming back to:
Tom Waits - always fun to do.

Stalin & Trotsky

A couple of recently roughed red terrors.
Little wonder Trotsky's looking slightly uneasy.

Han Solo

Hey-ho, let's go!

As stated in the preamble, most of my finished work will appear within the galleries on my caricature site at http://www.russcook.co.uk/ but I thought I'd include a thumbnail here of Harrison Ford that was completed last year and is yet to be uploaded by Mike.

The idea is to do a montage at some point of the original Episode IV line-up in mock film poster arrangement. It will coincide with my general plan of starting to do maxi-scale stretched canvases showing 'scenes' rather than just chuntering out portraits.
